Hi Gary, I’m a UK journalist and I saw your blog post about your relation Martin Moshal. We’re writing a piece about him because he is linked to some gambling companies in the UK… but he’s a secretive guy so it’s tricky to find out more about him. I wonder if you’d be able to speak and see if there was any info you might be able to tell me? Thanks, Tom

Thomas hi – yes I do know a great deal about Martin Moshal and to be perfectly clear, I have not met, to the best of my knowledge and nor have I communicated with, again to the best of my very good memory.
When you reply pls provide a link to my writings that caught your attention.
I also received earlier today an email request of a similar nature from a Mike Behr and which I responded to, but yet to hear back.
Are you collaborating?
Can you also be more precise on the nature of your investigation?
Have you communicated or attempted to communicate with Martin’s and my mutual cousin, Journalist-author Mark Gevisser?
Could you also direct me to your previous writings, and if you are just starting out, that would be perfectly okay with me, since you are less likely to have preconceived notions of this very important Martin Moshal.
Has South African Jonathan Beare yet come up on your radar screen?

There is some interest in his gambling companies in the UK. I’m trying to build up a picture of the early days of Microgaming. I wonder if there are people who were involved back then, who you might be able to point me to? And how would I get hold of your cousin? Thanks, Tom

Tom, so yes my very good memory is not perfect. I have spoken with Martin once but it was a nothing conversation.
I also know his business better than him because if he knew as much as me he would have got someone else to be the front person rather than stand out like a sore thumb.
Could you answer my other questions before we proceed further and you will see that I’m very forthcoming
By the way we spent yesterday, at least part of the day in San Francisco and it has been over a year since visiting one of our favorite cities and besides what is there not to like about San Francisco other than the poor are horribly mistreated.
We also stayed at a very nice hotel on Bush Street which I visited often during my year long critical examination before officially joining De Beers in early spring 1979 when I looked like this.

I am trying to find out more about the early days of Microgaming, when Moshal was still in Durban. I’m interested in knowing anyone who was involved in those days (but is not in senior management now – just because we can see who those peopel are). I’d like to know where Moshal was living when he started microgaming, and whether there were university friends who came out of UCT to help him

Any help would be much appreciated. My editors are concerned that anyone who runs such a big powerful company should be accountable, and in this case a series of offshore shell companies hide the truth behind this company. You strike me as a man who might be able to help us with that!

Your article with its well thought out grabber headline “Cynically groomed by a betting giant” is no surprise except it is more convoluted than what your article portrays.
So what made you decide to focus on Martin Moshal? Are you or Mike Behr South African? Where were both of you schooled?
As you know I am also an investigator of sorts but I started out at the very top of the pecking order which is where you story should be centered unless the goal of your editor is to gather information on behalf of the top dogs which wouldn’t surprise you if you know the monopoly business.
Behr has not responded to my email. Do you know why? Are you sharing our communications with him in real time. Who is the editor that is most pushing you to investigate Martin Moshal?
Why would you bother after reading my 872 words sent to a former US Navy Sonar Operator of America’s most advanced fast attack submarines think it is worth spending the time and energy looking at Martin’s university buddies?
Of course the people say great when reading your article, “It is being exposed and brings light blah blah” sic but that is because the humans are a carefully nurtured herd but without the sensitivity-intelligence of the rest of the animal species.

It is hard to make sense of what deluded preachers most often say because their approach is centered around the words, “Praise the Lord, Hallelujah” and you know that they laugh it all off once the cameras are turned off.
BTW, my beautiful Française-Canadienne wife Marie Dion and I about a quarter century ago were just kicking back around the midnight hour and flicking through the channels when we still had a tv connection and what Im about to tell you ended all tv hookups and nor have we watched in total over the past quarter century more than a handful of hours of non-sports Tv, and every so often we watch a documentary courtesy of Youtube.
As Jimmy ended off his money plea and with tears still streaming down his face, he broke into laughter thinking he no longer had a hot mike or that the cameras were still rolling.
I too have a lot on my plate today because we have been gone from our rock cabin home in the forest for the past 2 weeks traveling as far north as the border of Oregon and Washington State, and that does not have me unaware of the amazing coincidence that on the day we visit the spectacular TESLA factory which if you are aware is crystal clear that Musk so long as he remains healthy can lead the world this very instant out of its deep abyss, Musk without however naming names only referencing an industry that is as far away as it gets from his business interests, is the very first CEO or for that matter economist or professor of any discipline to have publicly got into a very deep discussion about the problems of monopoly.

Very often the reporters become part of a bigger story, and that you will find with the celebrated name reporters who have been covering the Jeffrey Epstein saga, and they too have now gone very quiet.

BTW, I couldn’t help notice that you seem to be avoiding like the plague Mark Gevisser who I believe should be the first person you try to go on record about his knowledge of Martin Moshal and how Martin not only grew so rich and powerful so very quickly but could easily withstand an attack by full of cash Jonathan Beare.
Remember in 2014 Mark Gevisser as well as my eldest brother Neil penned two books; and both Lost and Found in Johannesburg which makes no mention of Mark’s very close cousin, Sandra Jacobson [1957-1997] my classmate from Carmel College having been brutally assassinated by fellow members of the Umkhonto, the armed wing of the ANC and her naked, tortured body found in the trunk of her Toyota vehicle in Johannesburg on I believe November 4, 1997; and then in March 2006, the South African Police reopen the case and finally produce on September 5, 2006, a most nonsense, whitewash report, which happens to be the same day that Nick Oppenheimer met with President Putin.
